Circuit introduction
Zhuhai International Circuit (ZIC for short) was built in 1996 and is the first permanent international circuit in China. The track is 4.3 kilometers long and has 14 corners. It is a very challenging high-speed track.
- Turn 1: It is a high-speed right turn. After the start, multiple cars will approach this turn at a very high speed at the same time;
- Turn 3: It is a high-speed right turn that tests the driver's courage and handling skills;
- Turn 4: It is a high-difficulty, heavy-braking, rapid left turn with an opportunity to overtake;
- Turns 9 and 10: It is a combination of two consecutive 90-degree left-turns. Drivers must prepare a battle strategy in advance;
- Turn 14: It is the corner where the car returns to the starting grid, and it is also the highest speed corner on the entire track.
The fastest lap record at Zhuhai Circuit is 1:22.296, made by Peugeot 908 HDi FAP Le Mans race car.
Facilities in Zhuhai International Circuit (ZIC):
- There are 40 5M×18M pit garages in line with international standards in the pit building;
- The race control center, responsible for the management of the event, is equipped with a monitoring and communication network covering the entire venue, which can quickly and directly command and flexibly adjust all operations within the venue;
- ZIC also has facilities such as a media center that can accommodate about 200 people from all walks of life, and a press conference room that can accommodate nearly 100 people;
- There are also professional facilities such as an air ambulance helipad, a medical center, a scrutineering center, a gas station, and a grandstand that can meet the requirements of hosting international events;
- There are more than 10 VIP rooms and VIP suites with excellent views on the 2-5 floors of the pit building, which can entertain about 700 VIPs;
- The track can accommodate a total of 60,000 spectators to enjoy the exciting races.
