1. STATUS OF THE EVENT

A motor sport event organized by ZIC and run under the said FIM International Sporting Code and China National Competition Rules, together with these Regulations and any bulletins, supplementary regulations, and final instructions issued by the Race Committee

5. GENERAL UNDERTAKING

All riders, competitors and officials participating in the series undertake, on behalf of themselves, their employees and agents, to observe all the provisions as supplemented or amended of the national sporting code, the series technical regulations and the present sporting regulations.

It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure that all persons concerned by his entry observe all the requirements of the code, the sporting and technical regulations. If an entrant is unable to be present at the event, he must nominate his representative and submitted in writing. The person having taken charge of an entered bike during any part of the event is jointly responsible with the competitor for ensuring that the requirements are observed. Competitors must ensure that their bikes comply with the conditions of eligibility and safety throughout practice and the race.

The presentation of a bike for scrutineering will be deemed an implicit statement of conformity. All persons concerned with an entered bike in any way, or present in any other capacity in the  paddock, pits, pit lane or track must, at all times, wear the appropriate pass supplied by the organizer.

6. ELIGIBLE ENTRANTS and RIDERS

ENTRANT: Any incorporated body or individual with a valid license subject to rider and bike eligibility.
RIDER: Any person with a valid competition license together with a current medical certificate issued by a sporting authority.

7. ELIGIBLE BIKES

Refer to the supplementary and technical regulations issued for the series.

8. TYPE OF MEETING

National motorbike race meeting approved by the circuit and held under the international/national competition rules together with these regulations as well as any Bulletins, Supplementary Regulations, Communications or final instructions issued by the race committee.

9. DESCRIPTION OF COMPETITIONS

Motor bike race with a maximum distance or in the case of an endurance event, a maximum time traversed specified in the Supplementary Regulations.

For a sprint race, maximum time for each race is 30 minutes plus one lap. If the leading rider has not achieved the defined race distance after 30 minutes has elapsed, the leading bike will be shown the checkered flag at the next time he/she passes the finish line. In this case, notification of the last lap will be advised to competitors by showing the last lap board on the finish line. The finish line applies both at the track and the pit lane.

10. AWARDS

10.1 AWARDS FOR EACH RACE: Trophies will be presented to the top three finishers of each class. For allocation of points to the rider, please refer to each specific series.

10.2 AWARDS FOR THE SERIES: All points scored will count towards the series. Trophies will be presented to the top three riders accumulating the highest number of points.

In case of a tie, the position of the rider in the classification of the first race will be used as the tie breaker. The rider in the higher position takes precedence and will be declared the winner. In case both riders did not participate in, or did not finish the first race, the second race, will be used (and so on and so forth until the tie is broken).

10.3 Riders who fail to appear, or are late for the awards ceremony shall be penalized by a minimum of RMB500 per offense.

11. PENALTIES

As stated in these regulations that include Appendix E in addition to penalties imposed the race officials as per FIA yearbook, NCR or ASRs issued for the event.

12. ENTRIES

12.1 Completely filled-in entry forms accompanied by the appropriate entry fees must be submitted at least 10 days before the event. A photograph of the rider and up to four mechanics must accompany the entry form.

12.2 Entry fees are non-refundable (subject to Article 13) and non-transferable. Refer to the respective series Supplementary Regulations for entry procedures and fee details.

12.3 Acceptance and Refusal of Entries: All applications for entries will be reviewed by the race committee having regard to the suitability of the bike and the nominated rider. The race committee may refuse to accept an entry, a bike, or rider without assigning a reason – their decision being final without further appeal. When an entry, a bike, or a rider is not accepted, the entrant will be notified by the competitor liaison officer or the secretary of the meeting not later than four days before the event. Paid entry fees will
be returned in full.

12.4 Late Entry: The race committee, at its own discretion, may consider acceptance of an entry beyond the cutoff date subject to a penalty of 50% of the regular entry fee.

12.5 Change in Entry: A change of bike (and not of an entrant or a rider) will be permitted up to close of scrutineering. The replacement bike must comply with the regulations. A change into a bike that is already entered in another race is not permitted.

12.6 Change of Rider: A change of rider may be allowed only up to prior to official qualifying. An administrative fee in the amount of RMB 1,000 will be charged to the entrant.

Notwithstanding the above, the panel of stewards, upon proposition of the clerk of the course, reserve the right to permit a late change of bike or rider provided they are satisfied there is sufficient justification for such change. The decision of the panel of stewards shall be final.

13. POSTPONEMENT, ABANDONMENT OR CANCELLATION

The Organizing Committee reserves the right to postpone, abandon or cancel the meeting or part thereof.

13.1 In the event of a postponement, abandonment, or cancellation before the start of the event, entry fees will be refunded in full. If the event started as per the published provisional program, no entry fees will be returned in part, or in full. The entrant and/or competitor will have no right of claim against the promoters or organizing committee in respect to any prizes or loss of expenses that may have been incurred or may incur as a result.

13.2 Force Majeure: In the event of postponement, abandonment or cancellation due to force majeure (including but not limited to war, public disturbance, compulsory government policy, weather, natural disaster), the entrant and/or competitor will have no right of claim against the promoters or organizing committee in respect to any prizes or loss of expenses that may have been incurred or may incur as a result.

14. PROTESTS AND INQUIRIES

14.1 Protests as to the validity of an entry, qualification of a competitor or driver shall be lodged at the latest within one hour after posting of the official entry list.

14.2 Protests over mechanical details must be specific. Should the protest fail to be upheld the cost of dismantling subsequent to a protest of this nature shall be paid by the entrant making the protest. Should the protest be upheld, the entrant of the protested bike shall pay for the dismantling cost.

14.3 A protest over the makeup of the grid shall be lodged at least one hour prior to the time set down for the start of the competition entered.

14.4 A protest over any error or irregularity occurring while a competition is taking place shall be lodged within half an hour after posting of the provisional results, the finish of the immediately preceding competition, or, within such further time as the stewards of the meeting may think justifiable in order to make the lodging of the protest physically possible.

14.5 All protests must be made in writing by the entrant and delivered to the secretary of the meeting, accompanied by cash payment of the fees. No protests will be entertained without payment of the following fees, as applicable:

  • Protest fee: RMB 5,000.
  • Mechanical protest of a specific part: Protest fee plus RMB 5,000 bond.
  • Mechanical protest of an entire bike: Protest fee plus RMB 10,000 bond.

Appeals may be made by an entrant and delivered to the secretary of the meeting accompanied by cash payment of the appeal fee in the amount of RMB 20,000.

15. INTERPRETATION and PENALTIES

15.1 The interpretation of the regulations, including any bulletins and final instructions, and the choice of sanctions where the present regulations have not automatically stipulated these falls within the stewards of the meeting upon majority of the vote of those present. The decision of the stewards shall be final, except for the right to appeal as provided for in the international sporting code of the FIM.

15.2 All decisions concerning a time penalty or exclusion of riders or bikes from the race shall be announced and sent in writing to the entrant.

15.3 Should a bike be excluded from a race, the rider of the bike shall be warned by a signal. For this purpose, the black flag and a board with the race number of the bike shall be shown by the race official at the start line. The rider must stop at the pits on the same lap the signal has been shown. The entrant or his representative is also expected to show the rider his own “stop” signal from the timing pits. Should the rider
fail to heed this signal, additional sanctions may be imposed.

15.4 The fact that certain sanctions are mentioned in this regulations does not prevent the stewards of the meeting from imposing further sanctions should this be deemed necessary.

APPENDIX A

1. ELIGIBLE COMPETITORS

1.1 Entrants are required to hold a valid license as specified in Article 6 of the sporting regulations.

1.2 Riders are required to hold a valid license as specified in Article 6 of the sporting regulations. The license must be accompanied by a valid medical record either included in the license biked itself or on a separate form.

1.3 The race committee reserves the right to accept or reject, at their sole discretion, any entrant and/or rider without having to assign a reason.

1.4 Riders from China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taipei are defined as national riders in these regulations.

2. NOMINATION OF RIDERS

2.1 The number of riders that can be nominated in an entry shall be:

For Sprint Race: One
For Endurance: A minimum of two, and a maximum of three.

2.2 The name of the rider/s shall be stated in the entry form when the entry is submitted.

2.3 The only subsequent change of rider shall be considered under Article 12.6 of the sporting regulations.

3. RACE PASSES

3.1 Race passes will be issued for each competing bike in the following quantity:

  • 1 x rider pass
  • 4 x team crew pass

3.2 Each race pass is specific to a person, whose photo will be printed on the pass. For this purpose, a photo of the rider and his allocation of team crew passes must be submitted to the race secretariat together with the entry form. Passes will not be issued unless photos are submitted and printed on the pass.

3.3 For the purpose of pass issuance, team members must be members of one entry only.

3.4 Passes are non-transferable and must be worn conspicuously. Abuse of privileges including transferring of passes to another person will result in the revocation of the pass with the entrant being penalized with a fine in the amount of up to RMB500 per violation.

4. QUALIFIED STARTERS

4.1 The maximum number of starters will be based on the circuit homologation.

4.2 In order to qualify as a starter in a race, a rider must have taken part in at least one official practice session and has completed at least one lap.

4.3 The maximum qualification time shall be 110% of the fastest lap time registered by the rider from the same class.

4.4 The clerk of the course, at his sole discretion, may propose to the stewards of the meeting that a rider who has not qualified be allowed to take part in a race. The decision of the stewards has no appeal.

5. THE GRID

The grid shall be determined based on the official results of the qualifying session with the fastest competitor taking pole position.

For events with two races, the grid for the first race shall be based on the official results of the qualifying session with the fastest competitor taking pole position. The grid for the second race shall be based on official results of the first race, with the winner taking pole position.

6. PRACTICE

For each event, there will be a minimum of one 20-minute practice session.

7. QUALIFYING

For each event, there will be a maximum of two qualifying sessions of a minimum duration of 20 minutes each.

8. RACE

For each event, there will be a maximum of two races with a maximum duration of thirty minutes.

9. SHIPPING and IMPORTATION

All importation must be approved by ZIC. Refer to ZIC import/shipping regulations for details.

APPENDIX B

1. SCRUTINEERING

All riders and bikes entered in a race must comply with the following rules, unless, at the sole discretion of the chief scrutineer, has agreed in writing to a waiver or modification.

1.1 All competing bikes will be presented at the appointed time and place for inspection by the official scrutineers, who may, in their absolute discretion, require any entrant to comply with a request for specific inspection. Any entrant who refuses to comply will be excluded from the race or meeting. The scrutineers will inspect the bike for compliance with the regulations and for sound mechanical condition. No competing
bike may be driven onto the circuit for official practice until it has passed all phases of scrutineering.

1.2 Any competing bike which has been modified after official scrutineering, or which has been involved in an accident must be presented to the official scrutineers, whose approval must be obtained before the bike is driven for any official practice or race. Breach of this rule will automatically result in exclusion or disqualification.

1.3 A competing bike may be subject to impounding for scrutineering or dismantling after practice, qualifying or race to ensure conformity with the regulations.

1.4 Only those officials charged with supervision may enter parc ferme. Unauthorized entry by any other personnel is strictly forbidden, subject to sanctions.

2. COMPETITION NUMBERS

Unless the competition numbers are already provided by the organizers, the following shall be observed:

2.1 All numbers plates must be in position before presentation for scrutineering. The numbers shall be durable and must be shown all throughout the duration of practice, qualifying and race. The chief scrutineer will reject any bike whose numbers do not meet the specifications below.

2.2 Number plates must be rectangular in shape being flat or slightly curved with minimum measurements of 285mm x 235mm. Corners should be rounded. Minimum dimensions of figures being:

  • Height of Figure 140mm
  • Width of Figure 80mm
  • Width of Stroke 25mm
  • Space between 2 Figures 15mm

2.3 The timekeepers may refuse to record the performance of any bike whose competition number is not readily visible to the lap recorders.

3. RIDER SAFETY EQUIPMENT

3.1 All riders must wear a helmet during practice, qualifying and race/s of the full face type and conform to the current FIM yearbook or as approved by a FMN, or a higher standard at the discretion of the Chief Scrutineer.

All helmets must be presented for inspection at scrutineering. The helmet must have a chinstrap type retention system. Visors must be made of a shatterproof material. Helmets constructed with an outer shell of more than one piece are permitted; provided that, in case of an emergency, they can be quickly and easily removed from the rider’s head by releasing or cutting the chinstrap.

3.2 All riders must wear a complete leather suit with additional leather padding or other protection on the principal contact points - knees, elbows, shoulders, hips etc.

3.3 Linings or undergarments must not be made of a synthetic material which might melt and cause damage to the riders’ skin.

3.4 All riders must wear leather gloves and boots, which with the suit provide complete coverage from the neck down.

All protective clothing, leather gloves and boots must be presented at scrutineering.

4. FUEL

4.1 98 RON unleaded gasoline available at the ZIC fuel station is the specification fuel for the event.

4.2 No other fuel or grades of gasoline may be used for practice, qualifying or race. Additives are not permitted except in the case of two-stroke engines when oil may be added to the gasoline solely for lubrication purposes and on condition that it does not increase the fuel octane rating. A fuel sample may be taken at any time during the course of a meeting in order to verify that the regulations are strictly observed.

5. BIKE ADVERTISING

5.1 All bikes will be required to carry the organizers advertising. For this purpose, a conspicuous area measuring 100 sq. cm. on both sides of the bike must be reserved for the organizers. The provisions of the FIM code will apply.

5.2 Advertising is permitted provided that, in the opinion of the chief scrutineer, it does not impair visibility, compromise the safety of the bike and/or is not offensive in nature. The chief scrutineer may refuse to pass a bike until any offensive advertising has been removed.

5.3 All advertisements must be in position prior to presentation for scrutineering.

5.4 Failure to comply with the above regulations may result in exclusion or disqualification.

6. TEAM ADVERTISING

6.1 Participating teams may place the team's flags and sponsors' flags at designated areas. Advertisings on these flags that conflict with the event organizers are strictly forbidden. Each participating team can place its team banner on top of the garage gate above the pit garage. On the front gate 4 (four) flags are permitted and on the back gate 6 (six) flags are permitted.

6.2 Flag sizes cannot exceed: 5m (height) X 1m (width). Placement of purely commercial advertising on the front gate of the pit garage is strictly forbidden.

6.3 The uppermost space on the front gate of the pit garage belongs to the official event organizer (Appendix F). Teams are forbidden to place their advertising there.

6.4 Should teams require to erect tents in the paddock area, an official written request must be placed with the event organizers.

6.5 Any infringement of the above regulations will be punished.

APPENDIX C

COURSE RULES

It is deemed that all entrants, riders and team members have read and are fully conversant with the provisions laid down in the international sporting code of the FIM and the national sporting code.

1. BRIEFING

At a time and place published in the race program or Supplementary Regulations, a mandatory riders briefing will be conducted for riders and team managers. No questions other than those related to the actual conduct of the races will be entertained. Any other queries must be sent to the secretary of the meeting in writing no later than three days prior to the start of the event.

Any rider who fails to attend the mandatory riders briefing shall be penalized by a fine in the amount of RMB 1,000.

Any rider who fails to attend the mandatory riders briefing on time shall be penalized by a fine of RMB 200.

Rider briefing attendance penalties must be paid prior to official practice. Furthermore, for failure to attend the mandatory riders briefing, the rider will be required, at the convenience of the clerk of the course, have his own briefing which must be done prior to any driving on the track.

2. RACE CONTROL

The race control is under the sole jurisdiction of the clerk of the course. No person other than the clerk of the course, the stewards of the meeting or persons expressly requested by the clerk of the course to perform essential duties are permitted to enter the race control during the course of the meeting.

The race secretariat is provided and located at the second level of the building for the convenience of the entrants.

At all times, drivers must adhere to instructions given out by race officials.

3. PADDOCK

3.1 The location of the main paddock is the area directly behind the mechanical pits. Other places as decided by the organizer may be utilized as auxiliary paddocks.

3.2 Only competing bikes will be allowed in the paddock. All other bikes, unless with the express permission of the organizers, must be parked at the designated parking areas.

4. PITS

There are two types of pits – the timing pits and the mechanical pits. The race committee shall make the allocation of pits to the entrants.

4.1 TIMING PITS

4.1.1 The timing pits may be used by the entrant solely for the control of signaling to his bike/s.
4.1.2 Only timing crew wearing the appropriate pass are allowed in the timing pits. It will be the responsibility of the entrant to ensure that no other unauthorized personnel are within their timing pits.
4.1.3 Signaling boards shall be of such a size and design so as not to obstruct the signaling capability of the crew of other timing pits.
4.1.4 Signals to or from competing cars by radio communication may be used provided government approval is granted. Failure to observe this rule will result in a fine of RMB 1,000 and possible disqualification from the meeting.
4.1.5 Signals to competing bikes may only be made from the timing pits.
4.1.6 The form of signals used at the timing pits must not resemble the international track warning flags.
4.1.7 Competing bikes must not slow down, alter course or stop at the timing pits during official practice, qualifying or race under penalty of disqualification.

4.2 MECHANICAL PITS

4.2.1 The mechanical pits will be used solely for servicing, refueling and maintenance of competing bikes and change of rider.
4.2.2 A competing bike at the mechanical pits may be serviced by up to a maximum of four team personnel. No other personnel are allowed in the pit lane.
4.2.3 Any competing bike that either changed its rider, refueled, oil replenished or serviced at any other place other than its own mechanical pits during the race shall be disqualified. Riders are not allowed to carry out any repairs or servicing on the track even on their own bikes, or to receive outside assistance.
4.2.4 Any competing bike that enters the paddock or pit box during a practice, qualifying or race session is deemed to have officially retired from the particular session. Re-entering the pit lane or the track is strictly forbidden.
4.2.5 Except during pit stops, all equipment including tools and spares must be kept in the pit boxes.
4.2.6 Immediately after a pit stop, the mechanical pit and the area directly in front of the pit box must be cleared of any and all equipment, including tools and spares.
4.2.7 For endurance races, prior to refueling, the engine must be switched off. Penalty for breach of this rule is disqualification. Riders are permitted to sit astride their bike during refueling.
4.2.8 The bike must not be restarted until after the refueling rig has been removed, put aside and the fuel tank filler cap shut or has been secured in place.
4.2.9 Every precaution must be made in order to avoid spillage of oil or fuel. In the event of a spillage, the pit marshal will supervise the cleanup by the pit personnel and must adhere to any instructions given.
4.2.10 If there is a leak or spillage of fuel, the engine must not be started. The bike must be pushed away from danger and only upon the order of the pit marshal can the rider restart the engine. Failure to observe this rule may result to a penalty imposed by the stewards of the meeting.
4.2.11 A bike must never be driven in the wrong direction of the pit lane using its own power. Any need to reverse must be done by pushing the bike by the rider and/or up to a maximum of two team crew. Failure to observe this rule may result to a penalty imposed by the stewards of the meeting.
4.2.12 Smoking is strictly forbidden in the pits, the pit boxes and paddock area. A fine of a minimum of RMB500 will be imposed for the first offense. Any subsequent violation will carry another fine of a minimum of RMB500 and revocation of the race pass.
4.2.13 The penalty for breach of (4.2.2) and (4.2.5) shall be one minute per extra personnel or per incident added to the total race time of the bike being serviced.
4.3 Pit lane speed control during all sessions is set at 60 kph. Over speeding along the pit lane will be penalized accordingly (Refer to Appendix E).

5. PRACTICE and QUALIFYING

5.1 The time of the practice and qualifying session/s will be laid down in the event program, or as may be announced.

5.2 Only registered riders are allowed to drive during practice and qualifying and only in the bikes for which they have been registered in.

5.3 Bikes entering the pit lane from the paddock must proceed only upon the signal or instruction of the pit marshal.

5.4 For all sessions, including race, track limits are defined as the solid white line at the edge of each side of the track. This includes the solid white lines along the pit entry and pit exit. Bikes must stay within these limits. Bikes whose wheels are off the limits (even with any wheel touching the line) shall be penalized as per Appendix E.

5.4 The end of session will be signified by the checkered flag waving at the finish line. On receiving the checkered flag, the rider must continue to drive at a reduced speed for one more lap and enter the pit lane through the pit lane entry point. Each rider may cross the checkered flag no more than once under pain of fine of a minimum of RMB500 for each additional time the checkered flag has been crossed.

5.5 All rules during a race will apply during practice and qualifying, except in the case of 4.2.3 Appendix C where, upon application to the race control, permission to receive mechanical assistance on the circuit during practice may be granted under certain circumstances.

6. THE START

6.1 Bikes will be brought to the starting grid for their race in the order as instructed by the clerk of the course (or his deputy) and assisted by the pit lane marshal.

6.2 Unless otherwise supplemented, the starting method of the race shall be by mass start from the starting grid.

6.3 Countdown signals will be shown at five minutes, three minutes, one minute and five seconds remaining before the start of the warm up lap and each of these countdown boards will be accompanied by an audible warning.

6.4 All persons other than the riders and course officials directly involved with the start of the race must be off the circuit not later than one minute before the green flag, under penalty that may go as far as disqualification.

6.6 The start of the warm up lap will be signified by a green flag signal. After returning to the grid from the warm up lap and all bikes are in their proper grid position, the red lights will be switched on. Between 4 and 7 seconds, the red lights will be switched off. Racing starts the moment the red light is off.

6.7 START PROCEDURE

6.7.1 The race will be started by mass start method, with engines running.
6.7.2 Push starting is permitted subject to compliance with Article 6.7.3 Appendix C.
6.7.3 Any bike, which fails to start, must be pushed to the pit and be clear of the circuit within one minute after the start signal is given. Riders are warned that if a motorbike is pushed over the start line after the start signal has been given by anyone other than the rider, it will be subject to a penalty that may go as far as disqualification for receiving outside assistance. The only assistance that may be given to the rider, providing the start line is not crossed, until the bike reached its pit, is by course officials who will be acting
to clear an obstruction.
6.7.4 Any bike that stops on the circuit during the sighting or formation lap will be automatically excluded from the race and may not be moved other than to the nearest point of safety.
6.7.5 Any bike that develops mechanical trouble during the sighting or formation lap but has not stopped on the circuit may be driven back into the pits for repairs and may rejoin from the pit lane only after the race has started. Any competitor starting from the pit lane must start the race before the leading bike has completed the first lap. Failure to join the track before the leading bike has completed the first lap will result to outright disqualification.
6.7.6 The penalty for jumping a standing start shall be 30 seconds added to the rider’s race time. For purposes of clarity, the following are considered as jump starts:

  • Bike (front axle) stopped on, or crossed over the grid front white line.
  • Any movement by the bike while the red light is on for the race start.

7. THE FINISH

7.1 The finish of each race shall be when the leading bike has completed the required number of laps (or prescribed time) and has crossed the finish line.

7.2 Provisional classification will be based on the leading bike crossing the finish line where it will be shown a waved black and white checkered flag.

7.3 Subsequent to the leading bike, the checkered flag will be shown stationary to competitors when they cross the finish line signifying the end of the race regardless of whether they have completed the full distance or not.

7.4 The order by which the bikes cross the finish line and taking into consideration the number of laps that a bike has completed when the race finishes, will determine the remaining positions.

7.5 Once the checkered flag has been waved, each rider may cross the finish line no more than once under pain of a minimum fine of RMB500 for each additional time the finish line has been crossed.

7.6 Pushing a bike along the circuit or across the finish line is not permitted and will result in its immediate disqualification.

7.7 On receiving the checkered flag, the rider must continue to drive at a reduced speed for one more lap and proceed directly to the scrutineering area. Any bike that leaves the circuit other than at the entry of the scrutineering area will be immediately disqualified. Any bike that unnecessarily stops and/or does tire burnouts along the circuit on the slow down lap will be penalized. Any bike that receives outside assistance with the exception of course officials on the slow down lap will be disqualified.

7.8 Only bikes that have crossed the checkered flag which have covered at least 75% of the distance covered by the provisional winner will be classified.

8. STOPPING AND RESTARTING A RACE

8.1 Should it become necessary to stop the race due to the circuit being blocked as the result of an accident or because climatic or other conditions make it impossible to continue the race at that time, a Red Flag will be shown by the Clerk of the Course at the Start/Finish line and simultaneously red flags will be shown at all observation posts. The decision to stop the race can only be taken by the Clerk of Course (or in his unavoidable absence, the Deputy Clerk of the Course). When this signal is given all bikes shall immediately stop racing, reduce their speed and return slowly to the pits or, according to the instructions of the track marshals, go to the dummy grid or the Parc Ferme in the knowledge that:

8.1.1 Race classification will be that of the preceding lap.
8.1.2 Rescue and service vehicles may be on the track.
8.1.3 The circuit may be totally blocked because of an accident, or climatic conditions have made it un-rideable at racing speed.

8.2 The stopping of the race will be dealt with as follows:

8.2.1 Less than two full laps completed, the original start will be null and void. Bikes will return to the pits, from where they will be sent onto the grid in the normal way for a start. The bikes will take up their original grid positions. Should there be gaps the grids may be closed up. Bikes may be serviced in the pits before the restart.
8.2.2 More than two laps but less than 75% of full race distance. The race shall be deemed to be in two parts. The order at the end of the first part will be that at the end of the lap preceding the stopping of the race. The distance of the restarted race will be that required to make up the full distance less 2 laps. A
new grid will be established from the order at the end of the first part. The second part will start in the same manner as the original start. Any bike that returns to the pits under its own power before the restart countdown commences is eligible, providing that it has not been officially retired at the time of stopping the race. Bikes may be serviced in the pits between parts.
8.2.3 More than 75% of the full race distance. This shall be deemed a full race and there will be no restart. The classification shall be the order at the end of the lap preceding the stopping of the race.

APPENDIX D

1. FLAG SIGNALS

The following flag signals will be used throughout the meeting and signals and colors described will not be used other than for purposes detailed in this article.
 

  BLUE (Waved): Warning that a faster competitor is trying to overtake.
YELLOW (Waved): Extreme caution. No overtaking and be prepared to stop. Shown waved at each row of the starting grid, this denotes the start of the race is delayed.
  YELLOW with RED VERTICAL STRIPES: Caution. Slippery surface ahead or obstacle on track.
WHITE with DIAGONAL RED CROSS (Stationary): Drop of rain on this section of the track.
WHITE with DIAGONAL RED CROSS + YELLOW with RED VERTICAL STRIPES
(Stationary):
Rain on this section of the track.
 
BLACK (and a board with a white competition number): Presented at the start line. Signal for the competitor bearing the presented number to stop at the pits within three laps.
BLACK AND WHITE DIAGONAL (and a board with a competition number):  Presented at the finish line. Warning for improper driving behavior. Rider is being observed. Prelude to a possible black flag if the behavior is not corrected.
BLACK WITH ORANGE DISC (and a board with a competition number): Signal that the bike has a mechanical problem likely to cause danger. Must stop at the next available opening on the circuit.
GREEN: Presented after yellow flag/s to denote danger has been cleared. Resume racing.
RED: Presented at all flag marshal posts and at the start line. This may be supplemented by a red light. Signal to stop racing immediately and proceed slowly to the pits exercising extreme caution and being prepared to stop, if necessary.
CHECKERED BLACK AND WHITE: Presented at the finish line. Signal for the end of practice, qualifying or race.
